As major American cities implement programs to divert waste and reduce their carbon footprint, the effects won't be felt just by the waste collection industry - they'll likely affect you too. We're here to explain the changes that the industry is facing so that you know what to expect.
If you're managing a zero-waste program, you're likely familiar with the challenges of collecting accurate data. At Rezzi, data is our bread and butter, and we're here to tell you just how useful it can be - in particular, for sustainability professionals of academic institutions and municipalities across the United States.
We're looking forward to the future here at Rezzi, with new team members, a new workspace, and a new product coming down the pipeline soon!
SmartCan has recently pivoted from our original conception - a robotic trash valet - to something entirely different. In this post we'll explain SmartCan's new purpose, and the significant value it offers to operators of all kinds in the waste collection industry.
As Rezzi closes our first major round of funding, we're looking forward to big things to come. Learn more about how this funding will help us further develop SmartCan and provide a better customer experience!
We are ACTEX Learning! Since 1972, we have provided actuaries and their professors with quality, affordable study materials.
As a benefit corporation, our goal is to develop and provide materials that make it easier for students to learn, and professors to teach. ACTEX materials are designed by actuaries, for actuaries.
Much has changed at ACTEX over the past 50 years, but one thing has not - our steadfast commitment to our educational community.
We offer a selection of study materials covering all SOA and CAS Exams. Our aim is to provide a study experience perfect for the studying actuary from his or her very first exam, all the way to his or her associate or fellow level accreditation.
Many practicing actuaries use ACTEX products through our established relationships with major actuarial employers. No matter what stage you are at in your career path, ACTEX has the right product for you.
In recent years, our focus has been dedicated to creating a better user experience across our vast range of products. Our new study platform Actuarial University puts every one of our study tools at your fingertips.
By indexing syllabus topics, Actuarial University allows you to quickly shift between your study materials from a centralized hub. Come across a topic in your study manual that you want to practice? Get directly to our GOAL Practice Tool with just a couple clicks.
Actuarial University includes many additional features to make your studying go more quickly and easily, such as Flashcards, Formula & Review Sheets, and a Study Planner to automatically create your study schedule.
Our GOAL (Guided Online Actuarial Learning) Practice Tool offers a massive database of exam-style problems. Prepare for exam day with one of three practice modes - Practice, Quiz, or Simulated Exam.
GOAL has been optimized across mobile devices and tablets, so that no matter where you are or how much time you have, it’s easy to fit in a practice session.
Your GOAL Score is a weighted score that tracks your performance, and the consistency of your performance, across your GOAL sessions. If your GOAL Score is a 70 or above, it is a strong indicator that you are ready to sit for your exam.
Because of our relationships with many experienced actuarial professors, ACTEX is able to offer customized instructional video content created by experts in their respective exams.
Video content is one of the many ways in which we offer alternative ways for students to learn. If you are having trouble with a particular concept, we want to ensure that you are able to approach it in as many different ways as possible.
Our proprietary technology allows us to make sure that our products are designed with the studying actuary in mind, specifically. Our Eureka! E-Reader tool was developed in order to bring the same functionality you would get from our physical manuals to your digital manual - and even more.
Leave notes, highlight, easily search through your manual, and save all your changes - whether on or offline.
At ACTEX, we strive to make products that suit the specific needs of the end user - whether you are a student or a professor.
Academic GOAL, our implementation of the GOAL Practice Tool for a classroom setting, was initially developed in only a couple weeks, in order to help professors teach during COVID. 2 years later, it has evolved into a fully-formed platform in its own right that we are continuing to improve for the professor experience.
Did you know that ACTEX is a benefit corporation?
Benefit corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social performance, transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.
Our specific public benefit purpose:
“To promote innovation in education and improved access to exceptional content and expert instruction through our community of students, educators, and professionals with the goal of offering customizable educational resources to improve both the effectiveness and efficiency in which students and professionals learn, and professors and students teach.”
We believe in the power of community. Over the decades, we’ve assembled a diverse collective of professors and professional subject matter experts and empowered them to create best-in-class educational materials. These materials offer students unrivaled access to affordable and comprehensive learning solutions that students can tailor to their unique learning styles.
Our members actively contribute and collaborate in support of our shared vision and mission. Some members contribute individually, some work in small teams, but each works collectively for the whole. The members of our educational community include YOU!
